The Public Domain Literature Library is maintained by a small editorial group Catalogue maintenance uses source records and bibliographic context. When to Write
We appreciate hearing about:
- Metadata corrections — an incorrect author name, title, or publication date; a book placed in the wrong category; or missing contributors such as illustrators or translators. For instance, if you notice that The Train Boy — A Reader’s Guide is listed under the wrong thematic group, or that The Decameron reading companion lacks a translator credit, we want to know.
- File or reading issues — an ebook that fails to open, displays garbled characters, is missing chapters, or contains unreadable formatting on a particular device or browser. This includes problems with specific formats like EPUB or PDF, or issues on e-readers versus mobile phones.
- Accessibility concerns — a text that lacks proper heading structure, alternative text for illustrations, or other features that support screen readers or assistive technologies. We aim to make our catalogue usable by everyone.
- Copyright or rights questions — if you believe a title may not be in the public domain in your jurisdiction, or if you hold rights to a work and wish to discuss its inclusion. We take these matters seriously and will review any such report carefully.
- General editorial observations — suggestions for new categories, thematic groupings, or additional context that could enrich a reader’s understanding of a work. For example, you might propose a new category for adventure series like The Motor Boys or suggest background notes for Stories of a Governess.
What to Include in Your Message
To help us address your report efficiently, please include as many of the following details as are relevant:
- The URL (web address) of the page where you encountered the issue.
- The exact title of the ebook and, if known, the author’s name.
- The file format you are using (for example, EPUB, PDF, Kindle, or plain text).
- The device or browser and its version (e.g., Chrome 120 on Windows 11, or a specific e-reader model).
- A clear description of the observed problem — what you expected and what actually happened.
- If the matter involves copyright, any supporting information about your rights or the work’s status.
Messages without all of these details may still be useful, but the more context you provide, the quicker we can investigate. For file issues, a screenshot or description of the error message can be especially helpful.
What to Expect
We read every message and treat each report seriously. Because IZREA Catalogue small, we may not be able to reply individually to every inquiry, but we do act on the information we receive. If your report leads to a correction or improvement, the change will appear in the catalogue in due course. We aim to acknowledge receipt within a few days, but please understand that complex issues may take longer to resolve.
