Editorial Standards

Purpose of the catalogue

The IZREA Public Domain Literature Library provides editorial companions—reading notes, thematic guides, and contextual discussions—for public-domain texts. Its purpose is to support readers in exploring early 20th-century juvenile and domestic fiction through close analysis of narrative techniques, historical settings, and character development.

Scope and selection

The catalogue currently covers 95 works, all drawn from Project Gutenberg. Selection emphasizes lesser-known juvenile adventure and domestic novels from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with a focus on series fiction, school stories, and historical adventures. No works under copyright are included.

Source attribution

All original texts discussed are sourced from Project Gutenberg and are freely available. Editorial materials are original works by the catalogue, published on izrea.com. Links to the original texts are provided where applicable.

Bibliographic records

Each record includes the title, author(s), digital source (Project Gutenberg), Library of Congress subject headings as keywords, a target-reader note, and an original catalogue note summarizing the editorial perspective. No additional metadata is fabricated.

Category assignment
